Why I love MAC Embark eyeshadow!?

I tell you why.. It makes my eyes pop more than other matte brown defining shades!

Now, brown in general makes blue eyes pop a little more than blacks and greys (as it is closer to orange which is the opposite of blue in the colourwheel), however the RIGHT shade of brown makes such a diefference! The right shade for me has proven to be Embark. It has that red undertone that makes the blue in my eyes pop more without being a red or an orange colour. It defines my eyes and makes them look brighter. So what's not to love??

I took a picture of my eyes, one wearing Embark and one Mystery (a cooler matte brown- grey undertones) so you guys could see the difference between hem. Though the effect didn't show up as much as I would like it to (as it actually does in real life). You can still se it though =)

Embark VS Mystery

If you hold your hand over one eye and then the other you can see more of a difference but if you look closely you can actually see that the left eye looks slightly more blue and the right eye looks slightly more grey. So imaine the effect in real life (when the colours aren't that much washed out - the flash does that)!

So conclution? I love Embark as my everyday defining eyeshadow and I suggest everyone with blue/grey/green eyes to go and check it out. If it's too exspensive maybe go check if the drugstore brand have a similar redtoned matte brown. I bet NYX has one, and maybe you have one in a 88/120 palette that you own?

If you have brown eyes though a more greytoned brown would make them look slightly more brown (grey is closer to blue).

What to wear on a roadtrip??

Hi guys! How was your weekend?? Mine was awesome. I went on a roadtrip to see one of my best friends in an other city, 2 hours from Stockholm. We had a blast!

But before I went I thought what should I wear makeup wise when I'm gonna be in a car for 2 hours but I still wanna look fresh and put together when I arrive so I wont have to worry about when I don't wanna worry about it (does that make sense? I feel like that was a looong sentence hehe).

So I did what I always do when I want to look nice but not overdone, and I want to share that with you =)

This is what I looked like:

This is what I did:
- First I put on my Garnier tinted eye roll-on under my eyes and blended that out.
- Then I mixed some foundation (Chanel Pro Lumiere) with some primer (Benefit The POREfessional) in my hands and just applied it as I would a moitsurizer. Gives coverage but not too much and the primer makes it last longer than if you would've mixed the foundation with a moisturizer.
- After that I just swiped a little powder (Too Faced primed&poreless) on my T-zone and nowhere else.
- I put bronzer (NARS Laguna) and blush (MAC Springsheen) on as usual, just not as heavy.
- Then I just finshed off my look with some mascara (Max Factor 2000 Calorie) and filled in my brows just a tiny bit (Isadora Eyebrow pencil Light Brown), and last but not least some tinted lip balm (ACO soft red lip balm).

It's the quickest easiest way to look put together without looking overdone =)

My favorite MAC eyeshadows!

When I saw Michele's (Michele1218 on youtube)  video on her favorite MAC eyeshadows I went through my collection to see which ones were my favorites..

With flash
First we have my everyday quad, in this quad I keep - Vanilla, All that Glitters, Mulch, Embark.

Vanilla is my all time fave highlight, it has a vanilla/milky colour that has just a slight slight satin finish.
All that Glitters I think you are all familiar with by now ;P it's a gorgeous pink/champange colour that's the most easy everyday lid colour ever.
Mulch is a darker brown with golden shimmer and it makes the perfect soft brown smokey eye.
Embark is my all time favorite eyeshadow ever! It's an absolutely amazing colour for just some definition around your eyes. Why I love it so so much is because of the redish undertone, it just makes my blue eyes pop without me having to wear red, pink or orange! Everyone with blur or green eyes should invest in Embark, makes such a difference along your lashline!

Next we have- Bronze, Shroom, Woodwinked, Sketch
Sable, Antiqued, Mystery

Bronze is just that perfect high shine bronze colour, nothing really unique about it but still the softness of it and the colour is just so pretty.
Shroom is the highlight I go for when I want that extra umph in my inner corners. Shiny milky colour.
Woodwinked I also think you're all familiar with by now, such an amazing gold/bronze! It's my #1 summer colour, so effortless and pretty.
Sketch is that darker colour that is just something different than brown but still very soft as it has warm plum undertones that doesn't show up as straight up purple. Gives a plum tone to your look and goes amazingly with blue or green eyes.
Sable is also one of those effortless colour that you just slap on and then you're done. Gorgeous medium brown with plum/pink undertones.
Antiqued is a really coppertoned bronze that is just gorgeous on blue eyes and looks absolutely amazing with a tan. Your eyes just pops!!
Mystery is for when I want a more cooltoned defined lashline or look overall. It's just for when I need a change from all the warm colours I tend to use =)

Clinique 3 step system - combination/oily skin REVIEW

WOW it's been a while! How are you guys ?? =) I've been busy busy busy as usual. But anyways. I have some time atm so I thought I would finally do my review on the Clinique 3 step skin care sytem for skin type 3 (combination/oily skin). I've been using it for about 1½ months now.

The 3 step system is designed to take care of the three most imortant things for your skin, cleanse - exfoliate - moisturize. And that is really what it's all about when taking care of your skin. While that's a great way to take care of your skin (you should at least do these three steps no matter what products you use) I feel that they haven't really hit the nail on the head with the combination/oily skin 3 step products.

With the 3 step system for combination/oily skin you get a cleanser, the dramatically different gel moisturizer and an exfoliating toner.

I love Cliniques' liquid facial soap cleansers even for dry/normal skin, it really does a great job cleansing my face. And there's really not much difference between the formulations for the different skin types, so I suggest you just go for the one for you particular skin type as it probably will have some different ingredients that suits your skin a bit better than others.

The dramatically different gel moisturizer however have absolutely no power to it at all. It did feel nice and cooling on the skin at first but then when it sinked in to the skin the skin felt dry and not moisturized ebough. And when you have an oily skin you need moisture so your skin stops overproducing sebum (the skin oil) and I just didn't feel that the gel formula worked for that. Moisture is key for oily skin!! So I feel that the 3 step kit would be better with the normal dramatically different lotion istead of the gel..

Now on to the clarifying toner.... It's very very drying, and that is the worst thing you can do to your skin when it's oily as it tricks the skin to producing more sebum! However if you have problems with blemishes and stuff this toner absolutely works for that, allthough you do need a very moisturizing moisturizer after to give your skin that boost it needs after been dryed out..

So if you would get the lotion intead of the gel moisturizer I think this kit would have worked sooo much better for me than it did now, now I actually went from pretty good skin to bad skin with blemishes and clogged pores everywhere! It did not keep my oil at bay as it should have, it just made it worse!

So my final thoughts: I think if you are gonna use the 3 step system and have an oily skin, don't be afraid to switch out the gel moisturizer for the loiton, beacause it will make such a difference in the results!
I still stand by my Origins Balanced diet moisturizer or La-Roche Posay effaclar duo moisturizer and my he Body Shop Seaweed toner, and then I switch between Origins Checks and balanced cleanser and the Clinique liquid soap cleanser. Those products have actually changed my skin for the better, So I really sugest you try those instead of all clinique products =)
