January Favorites 2012

This month has gone by so fast but at the same time so slow.. hmm I don't know what it is but it feels like it should be just right after new years but at the same time it feels like it should be the end of the month aswell haha excuse me I'm a little tired atm ^^

End of the month and therefor time for my monthly favorites.. I have a few new products to show you as I started the new year with some serious shopping hehe

Bed Head Urban Anti+Dotes Shampoo and Conditioner
says on the bottle that it's perfects for dry and damaged hair and will give you reslults in just a few uses. It really does, it leaves my hair feeling soft, moiturized, smooth, gives it a silky look and all that!! Ah I love love love these!! Smell amazing too!

Benefit The POREfessional pore minimizing primer
Minimizes the pores brilliantly! And mine are HARD to cover up!!

MAC Blush Bite of an apple (LE)
I been wearing this blush a whole lot this month, as it gives that perfect "just been out in the cold+sun" look. It's LE from the Venomous Villians collection but if you can find a colour that is a true apple red I suggest you try it out!

Essie Guchi Muchi puchi
The perfect pinky nude nail polish! Applies great and easy. Needs 3 coats to be opaque but you can get by with 2 just for that polishes classy look =)

DIOR Blush 839 Vintage Pink
Gorgeous pink with a gorgeous gold satin sheen. So so nice!

Viva La Diva Mix & Match Brow colours
Been back into using shadow for my brows lately. Dont know why but this trio is the one I go to when I want shadow. The lightest colour is perfect for my brows and it lasts a long time aswell. Cheap too ;P

What products have you been loving this month??

FOTD - Saturday night 28/1/2012

Good morning lovelies!

I'm gonna start off this week with a FOTD from saturday night. I was feeling a bit sick this weekend so we just had some friends over they drank some beer(I didn't want to drink) and we chatted all night. I love nights like that! I didn't know though exactly what the night would bring when I did my makeup so I went a little heavier than I would have had I known I would stay in all night. Oh well, I like doing my makeup and I had a new toy (NAKED palette!) to play with so no harm done ;)

I USED
Face: Garnier tinted eye roll-on
NARS Sheer Matte foundation
Too Faced primed and poreless loose powder
NARS Bronzer Laguna
DIOR Blush Vintage Pink
DIOR Highlighter Amber Diamond

Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay  NAKED p e/s Toasted(lids) & Hustle(lashlines + outer v) &
Virgin(highlight- browbone + inner tearducts)
MUS Eyeliner pencil Vanilla(waterline)
MAC Fluidline Blitz&Glitz(tightline)
Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara
Isadora Eyebrowpencil light brown

Lips: MAC Cremcheen lipglass Partial To Pink

This is the first time I've ever tried Urban Decay shadows and they are very very nice! Allthough some of them do have rather excessive fallout (mostly the glitter ones). This is also the first time for me trying out the famous primer potion which I'm not really that keen on actually :/ it's so wet feeling and I just don't like that. I get the exact same results (staying power + colour pop) with my Too faced Shadow insureance or my Lumene eyeshadow base without that wet feeling. So the Primer Potion will go to a friend. I do have too many primes anyways so I donät need to hold on to it just because you know =)

Urban Decay Haul! - NAKED palette (original) + De Slick Setting spray

FINALLY I have the Naked palette (original)! I was putting off buying it the whole year of 2011 thinking I don't need another palette of golds and neautrals (which i don't I have enough allready) but when christmas came and went I finally decided that I need the Naked palette in my life! I used som eof my remaining christmas money last week and ordered it from BeautyBay! I did need a new setting spray so I figured I was going to try the De Slick one so as I was adding that to my "shopping basket" I just couldn't resist adding the palette aswell ^^

You've seen it before and I bet you're tired of hearing and seeing and reading about it! I am too! But I mean i have to show you just in case someone out there has misses all that is the UD NAKED palette! =) I do really like the colours but there will be very few times that I use the greyish black called Creep and the gunmetal grey called Gunmetal (the two on the right). They're just not my colours, I maybe use cool greys and silvers once maybe twice a year (stretching it) so colourwise the NAKED2 palette would have been ideal for me but I just can't handle that tin packaging! And also I like the other colours a bit more in this one than the second one.

TIP: The cool grey/taupe packaging of the NAKED2 palette makes the eyeshadows look even cooler! So keep that in mind when you're looking at it online and thinking about ordering it! (yes I don't own it but when I looked at swatches I really don't see much taupe and cool tones at all)

Beauty MUSTS when in Sweden!

Most of my readers are not from Sweden which is where I'm from so I thought it would be nice to tell you guys what products and brands I thinkyou should check out if you ever come on vacation =)

Here in Sweden beauty products are very very Very exspensive so there is only so much that's worth checking out and you really need to know what to look for. Otherwise you will go in to a beauty store and see the prices and just give up.

What you need to check out:

1. Viva La Diva (the NYX of Sweden)- They offer great eyeshadow palettes in various sizes which are of great qualtiy and great prices. Also if you're into glitter eyeliners, they have a wide range of them and they are great =)

2. Isadora (budget brand who focuses on good quality whilst being hypo-allergenic) - I know that Isadora is available in the US and to some degree around the world. But if you ever come here tha brands is available practically everywhere and you must check out their bronzers. Great quality-great price-non animal tested-hypo allergenic! Also check out their eyeshadow quads, they're awesome!
Viva La Diva 48 eyeshadow palette - Isadora Bronzer

3. Make up store - Yes also available around the world but surprisingly few know about the brand. It's the makeup that a lot of swedish makeup artists use (we get a pro-discount) and it's not weird at all. The eyeshadows are super great quality, especially their s called microshadows (Make up forver sizes). I think they cost 129 SEK (exactly the same as one MAC eyeshadow here) and you will have to work really hard to use up all of the shadow! Their blushes are supe pgmented and are also worth giving a look. Really the entire range of products are worth checking out.

4. Lumene Finland - one of my fave budget brands here (yes they are finish but available here also). I love their face products - particularly their face primers! Their powders and their eyeshadows base are really good too. I'm not sure if they still do but they used to carry a body lotion that was tinted and had beautiful golden shimmer in it (body glow something), beautiful on your summerlegs!

Make Up Store Microshadow in Dita - Lumene Beauty base matifying and retexturizing primer

I hope this was somewhat helpful for you guys. Maybe it inspired you to take a weekend in Stockholm some time ;P It's really a beautiful city during summer (all year really but more so during summer). And if you're not planning a trip maybe you got curious to the brands I mentioned. For example I know that Make Up Store has a store in London so you guys in the UK should really check it out =) They're also available in Dubai, New York, Denver, Vietnam and so on and so on =) Check their website www.makeupstore.se to see all the places they're available at.

Have any of you ever been to Sweden? =)

Cleaning out and sorting trough my nailpolish collection...

So this saturday night I was too tired to go out with my friends so I decided to stay home. At around 11pm I was quite bored so i decided to go through my nailpolishes. WOW an eyeopener I tell ya! I thought I had around maybe 40 polishes (and do think that's a lot of polishes) but boy was I wrong! I had 73!! 73!! WHAAT!?

Crazy crazy crazy, so on went I and cleaned out polishes that were just unusable and old, and the ones I just didn't use. I think all in all I threw away around 15 and I have around 15 in a bowl to give away to friends.

I went from this!

To this =)

It's weird but I actually feel better and lighter myself now that my nailpolishes are sorted. I probably will do another clean out in a few months to see if I can let go of som emore polishes. At this time this is as far as I dare go ^^

I have also started to sort through my Makeup collection and I do have a bowl of makeup to give away to friends aswell haha. Mostly Lancome quads that I just don't use, but also some glosses and other stuff. I think my friends will like me when they come over ^^

Starting new skin care - Trying the Clinique 3 step skin care system for oily skin

I don't really know why really, but when I saw this little 3 step skin care system kit at the Clinique counter after christmas i just couldn't resist it. I've heard really good things about the skin care products from Clinique but never reallt ried any (except for my facial soap fro normal/dry skin, which I like, but i don't have dry skin so it doesn't do anything but clean my face really). So I figured why not. This set cost me 305 SEK = $44.57 = £28.89 and I got:

1. Liquid facial soap oily skin formula 50ml
2. Clarifying lotion 100ml
3. Dramatically different moisturizing gel 30ml
Bonus a All About Eyes 7ml

We'll see how it goes =) Have you tried any Clinique skin care? What do you think?

FOTD - Everyday smoke inspired by Stacy Keibler

Hi guys!
I wore this look wednesday this week but forgot to post it. So here goes =)

I absolutely love Stacy Keibler's look and style, and she always has gorgeous makeup. This year's Golden Globe awards was no different. She wore a beautiful soft smokey eye but she kept the shadows on the upper lid and none on the lower. I thought that was so pretty and perfect for everyday (except the false lashes hehe). I toned it down a bit though, I was just going to a hockey game, not the red carpet ;P

I USED
Face: Benefit The POREfessional primer
Garnier tinted eye roll-on
Revlon Colorstay foundation
Too Faced Primed & Poreless loose powder
NARS Bronze Casino (tad bit less warm than Laguna so it makes an amazing contour shade)
DIOR Blush 839 Vintage Pink
DIOR highlighter Amber Diamond

Eyes: Lumene beauty base eyeshadow primer
MAC e/s Vanilla (browbone, inner corner), All that glitters (lid), Embark (lashline, smudged out and up)
Max factor 2000 calorie Mascara
Make Up Store eyeliner pencil Vanilla (waterline)
Isadora Brow pencil light Brown

Lips: Lip balm

I haven't really thought about wearing eyeshadow and NOT wearing any on the lower lid. But I actually like it very much for everyday. It gives you that soft definition without being too dramatic and take to much time. And do you know what? I actually have always loved the look of eyeshadow on the lower lid with nothing on the upper lid, so why not the other way around ?! ;P Try it, try both ways =)

FOTD - Rose gold eyes with rosy cheeks + lips

So yesterday we went to a friend's birthday party and I really wanted to use my new Benefit Bene Tint cheek and lip stain. So I figured why not go with some rose gold eyes to match with the pink flush that Bene Tint gives. I love the look of dollish eyes, cheeks and lips so that's kinda' the look I was going for. And I loved how it turned out. Very simple yet very classic and different in a way.. Hope you like it =)

I USED
Face: Benefit The Pore Fessional pore minimizer primer
Garnier tinted eye roll-on
Revlon ColorStay foundation
Benefit Bene Tint
Too Faced Primed & Poreless loose powder
DIOR Blush "nr839 Vintage Pink" (just a little over the Bene Tint)
DIOR Hightlighter "Amber Diamond"

Eyes: Lumene Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Paint pot "Painterly"
MAC Pigment "Tan"
MAC eyeshadow "Vanilla(highlight), Embark(along lashlines)"
MAC Gel Liner "Blitz & Glitz" (tightline)
MUS Eyeliner pencil "Vanilla" (waterline)
Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara
Isadora eyebrow pencil "Light Brown"

Lips: Benefit Bene Tint + Lipbalm over it

Unfortunately I couldn't seem to get a better picure than this one shown. I tried and tried and tried but then we had to leave and  just had to settle with this one. Anyways...

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?? =)

Delivery - Some Benefit products

Finally my package from ASOS arrived today. I ordered it just before christmas but as they were busy busy busy my order would take a bit longer than usual. And that was ok cuz' I really didn't need to pay extra to get it before the new year. I ordered 2 dresses and the Benefit cosmetics All Decked out gift set.

When I opened the package I was majorly surprised as I found that both The Pore Fessional and the Bene Tint was full size!! 22 ml pore fessional and 12,5 ml bene tint. They both retail for £24.50 and I paid £35 for the gift set. That means I paid around £17 for each AND I got a sample of the Some kind-a Gorgeous cream foundation (1.8g). So it was a great deal!  Reviews will be coming up ones I've used these a while =)

Essie Haul - My first ever Essie polishes!

I sure you guys all know of Essie Nail polishes. They're a lot of beauty bloggers/vloggers favorite polishes and geat raved about a lot! I've always been curious about them but thaught that they were just to exspensive for me (129 SEK = £12.07 = $18.63).

But just before christmas I decided too buy two polishes as a gift for myself. My choice fell on the gorgeous raspberry red Size Matters and the nude Guchi Muchi Puchi. Both very nice applicationswise and they wear great on your nails.

After christmas they had a deal on Essie polishes (2 for 179 SEK = £16.75 = $25.86) so I couldn't resist using some of the money I got for christmas and I bought yet another two polishes. This time I went for a beautiful bright melon colour called Watermelon and the famous minty colour Mint Candy Apple.

Size Matters, Guchi Muchi Puchi, Mint Candy Apple, Watermelon

Size Matters is really similar to Barry M's Raspberry. They're pretty much identical but I like the application of Size Matters better so I gonna give my Raspberry to a friend. I absolutely adore these kinds of reds!

Guchi Muchi Puchi is a pink nude that you can wear as a sheer wash to make your nails look a bit more healthy or build it up with 3 coats to get a that soft pink nude look.Soo nice! My firts nude!

Min Candy Apple is a really bright minty colour that makes your nails look so nice and fun! If yu've followed my blog for a while you all know I LOVE MAC's Misschievous Mint and these two are exact dupes!!! So I don't have to be afraid to use up my MAC one anymore (I've used half) =) And for those of you who missed out on Misschievous Mint (it was LE) I seriously suggest you pick up Mint Candy Apple!!

Watermelon is that bright pinkish coral that will look awesome on my nails during summertime. I havenät worn this yet but I'm guessing I will love this one as much as the other ones ^^ =)

Do you own any Essie polishes? Have any favorites?

My new years resolutions - Beautywise

So my New Years resolutions this year mostly relate to beauty in some form or another. My other resolutions not relating to beauty I feel I don't wanna share with anyone (not even my best friends) as I have made some real personal ones. I guess every resolution is very personal but mine this year are a bit different than they usually are.

Anyways my resolutions beautywise I feel I want to share =) Here we go:

1. I have a everyday makeup/beauty drawer with all my fave makeup and nailpolishes and stuff that I use on a day to day basis. Then I have my collection in a Börje drawer from Ikea. Those products in there just doesn't get used. So for this year I'm gonna go through my everyday drawer once every month and switch out a few things with "new" things from my collection, just to get a use out of the products I own..

2. Try to do at least one FOTDs a week. Note TRY to. As my camera is acting crazy atm that won't be possible these first weeks ut when I get my camera to work (or a new one) I will definately try to get more looks up.

Some of the past year's FOTDs:

3. Use more colours makeupwise. I do use colours from time to time but I feel I need a little more colour this year than I used this past year. Colours can just change your mood completely. So when I'm having a kinda' "shitty" day I'm gonna try to put some colours on and think "there's nothing some colour can't fix" (it's nice to think that way anyways).

4. I can only buy 5 nailpolishes for myself this year! Last year I went a bit crazy and I think I bought like 20-25 something (maybe more) because I just really got into nailpolish and I never really was before, So I went from having round 5 total to about 30 total. Needless to say I need to stop buying nailpolish! I actully allready bought 2 polishes this year (I know that was fast right? I started the year with some shopping, what can I say). I bought Essie's Watermelon and Mint Candy Apple. So 3 more to go ^^ Allthough I've given myself a loophole. For every 2 polishes i get rid of (give away to a friend or just throw out) I can buy a new one.

So these are my resolutions for this year =) What ya' think? What are your resolutions?

Random post: Yankee Candle Black Cherry

So I've always been curious to Yankee Candles and the past year I've seen more and more of them here in little boutiques in Stockholm. Finally in the beginning of December I purchased my first one. A 7 oz tumbler of the Cherries on Snow scent.

I absolutely fell in love and just before christmas I went and bought myself a medium jar of Black Cherry which is even more amazing! I also got my mom the Tutti Frutti one and my grandma the White Christmas one as christmas presents..

Now, with some of my christmas money I got, I went out today and bought a backup of the Black Cherry because I'm gonna be absolutely super duper sad when it burns out hehe..

I so so so so soooo recommend you check out Black Cherry when you get the chance! It's amazing! And Yankee Candle sells samplers of each and every scent they have so if you don't know where to find them in store I bet you can find them online =) In Sweden you can find them online HERE!
